A Medical Assistant (MA) is an integral member of the health care delivery team, qualified by education and experience to work in the administrative office, the examining room and the physician office laboratory. The Medical Assistant, also a liaison between the doctor and the patient, is of vital importance to the success of the medical practice. They respond by doing work that is useful and helpful to others. Excellence Medical Assistant strive to be the best they can be. They push to do the best work they can do. Being a professional Medical Assistant you listen when others are speaking. Give them the courtesy of their undivided attention. Pay attention to the matter at hand. They do not let their thoughts wander. MAs always find out what is expected of them and find a way to do it properly. Competency MAs acquire the skills necessary to do their job properly, professional, and with great dexterity. They realize that to become an expert at what they do, they must matter all aspects of their craft. To do this they must obtain training, education, and experience. Because most employers prefer graduates who graduated from an accredited Medical Assisting program. Mahan 4 Accredited Medical Assisting programs are offered in postsecondary vocational schools, junior colleges and in colleges and universities. Postsecondary programs usually last either one year or less which results in a certificate or diploma or two years with an associate degree. Being a MA you have to be a good communicator because they see effective communication as an extension of their professional and recognize that knowledge and expertise are of little value until they are applied and shared with others.
